Less Rains in Northern Luzon But Habagat Persists
La Union to experience isolated thunderstorms and slight to moderate coastal seas

In its 5:00 AM regional forecast on September 11, 2026, PAGASA says the southwest monsoon is bringing scattered rains, isolated thunderstorms, and light to moderate winds across Northern Luzon. The weather system is currently affecting multiple provinces in the region, prompting state meteorologists to advise local disaster offices and the public to monitor changing conditions and take necessary precautions against potential hazards.
For La Union and neighboring provinces, PAGASA says expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. Temperatures in the province are projected to range between 25°C and 31°C. Coastal waters along the province’s shoreline will remain slight to moderate, with light to moderate winds blowing from the south to southeast.
While La Union faces isolated rainshowers, heavier rainfall is expected in nearby areas. PAGASA issued Rainfall Advisory No. 85, warning of light to moderate, and at times heavy, rains within the next two to three hours in the following areas:
- Pangasinan (including Agno, Alaminos, Dagupan, Lingayen, and San Carlos)
- Aurora and Nueva Vizcaya (specifically Alfonso Castaneda)
- Isabela, Cagayan, Batanes, and Quirino
