Who's Behind This
ELYU Herald is a one-man operation — reporting, editing, and building the site are all handled by one person: Paul Parado.
Paul's roots in San Fernando run deep. He got his start in media at a local radio station right here in the city, long before his career took him anywhere else. From there, he spent a decade in broadcasting as a radio announcer with ABS-CBN, GMA, and MBC, and later wrote for the Tech Section of the Manila Bulletin. His path also took him to sea — as an IT specialist for the Maritime Telecommunications Network, keeping cruise ship passengers connected to satellite internet back when the internet itself was still young. He's also presented to international audiences through The PPI Group.
After all that, he came back — settling in Bacnotan, La Union in 2015, where he's called home ever since.
That mix of broadcasting, print journalism, hands-on technology, and a genuine stake in this community is exactly what powers ELYU Herald today. Every article, every line of code, every published photo passes through one set of hands — which means every story is held to the same standard: fair, unbiased, and grounded in what's actually happening in San Fernando City and La Union.
