PAGASA issues a rainfall advisory as the Southwest Monsoon causes continuous rains and moderate to rough seas in Ilocos Region and La Union.

PAGASA reported in its 4:00 AM weather bulletin on August 14, 2026, the Southwest Monsoon continues to affect Luzon and the western section of the Visayas, bringing rain & showers across multiple provinces.

Rainfall Advisory No. 46 was issued at 5:00 AM, saying continuous rainfall and moderate to strong southwest winds will continue to affect La Union, alongside Benguet, Ilocos Sur, and Pangasinan. PAGASA reports that these weather conditions are expected to persist for two to three hours and may spread to neighboring municipalities.

Coastal waters across the region are forecasted to remain moderate to rough, with daily temperatures hovering between 25°C and 32°C.

Provinces on the western coastline face stronger monsoon activity, with Zambales and Bataan expecting occasional heavy rains. The rest of Luzon, Aklan, and Capiz will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers, while localized thunderstorms affect the remainder of the country.

PAGASA also detailed maritime conditions across regional waters:

  • Northern and Western Luzon: Moderate to strong winds from the southwest will bring moderate to rough coastal waters, with wave heights ranging from 2.1 to 2.8 meters.
  • Rest of Luzon: Light to moderate southwest winds will produce slight to moderate seas, with wave heights measuring 1.2 to 2.5 meters.
  • Visayas and Mindanao: Light to moderate winds from the south to southwest will result in slight to moderate waves, measuring 0.6 to 1.8 meters.

Small sea vessels and local fisherfolk along the western coast of La Union and neighboring provinces face wave heights reaching up to 2.8 meters.
