Yellow Rainfall Warning for La Union
La Union and the Ilocos Region still face occasional rains and rough seas due to monsoon.

PAGASA issued a Yellow Rainfall Warning for Southern La Union, in its 5:00 AM weather advisory on Monday, August 10, 2026. Warning residents of possible localized flooding and landslides in low-lying and mountainous zones.
The alert covers eight southern municipalities:
- Agoo
- Aringay
- Burgos
- Caba
- Pugo
- Rosario
- Santo Tomas
- Tubao
The Southwest Monsoon will still bring widespread rain and strong winds across Luzon and western Visayas. PAGASA warned that sustained rainfall could trigger flash floods and landslides in vulnerable areas. Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Peilou was tracked 2,515 kilometers east of Extreme Northern Luzon outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, moving east-southeastward at 25 kilometers per hour with maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour and gusts reaching 80 kilometers per hour.
Light to heavy monsoon rains has been predicted for Central and Northern La Union:
- San Fernando City
- Bacnotan
- Bagulin
- Balaoan
- Bangar
- Bauang
- Luna
- Naguilian
- San Gabriel
- San Juan
- Santol and
- Sudipen
PAGASA also highlighted key rainfall and sea condition warnings across affected zones:
- Monsoon Rains: Benguet, Zambales, and Bataan face moderate to heavy, and at times intense, rainfall with direct risks of flash floods and landslides.
- Occasional Rains: Metro Manila, the Ilocos Region (including La Union), Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, Batangas, Mindoro provinces, and the Cordillera Administrative Region face intermittent heavy downpours.
- Rough Sea Conditions: Northern and western seaboards of Luzon will experience strong southwest winds generating rough waves measuring between 2.8 and 4.0 meters.
Mariners and small seacraft operators along the western coast of Luzon are advised to take precautionary measures as wave heights are predicted to remain high at 4.0 meters.
