Southwest Monsoon to Bring Rains Across Luzon and Visayas
Ilocos Region, La Union and Pangasinan must be on the lookout for scattered rains and potential floods

According to PAGASA in its weather forecast issued at 4:00 PM on June 26, 2026, the southwest monsoon is currently affecting Luzon and Visayas, bringing wet weather and potential hazards to multiple regions. The weather bureau warned that these conditions will bring varying levels of rainfall, ranging from occasional rains to scattered thunderstorms, across major parts of the country.
In the Ilocos Region, Pangasinan is expected to experience occasional rains, while the rest of the region will see cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms. PAGASA stated that these moderate to heavy rains could trigger flash floods or landslides in low-lying and mountainous areas.
Other areas facing similar cloudy conditions and scattered rains include Metro Manila, the Cordillera Administrative Region, Zambales, Bataan, and several provinces in Central and Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Meanwhile, the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is bringing rains to Caraga, the Davao Region, and Southern Leyte.
Coastal waters in Northern Luzon will experience moderate conditions with wave heights reaching up to 2.5 meters. PAGASA advises mariners like those from the coast of Bacnotan, San Juan and Balaoan and their local communities to monitor local weather updates and take necessary precautions against sudden flooding and landslides.
