Northern Luzon to Experience Isolated Rainshowers and Thunderstorms
La Union and neighboring provinces face warm days with light winds and slight coastal waters.

According to PAGASA, Northern Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms on June 16, 2026, due to localized weather systems. The state weather bureau issued this regional forecast at 5:00 AM, advising residents across the northern provinces to prepare for sudden, brief rainfalls despite generally warm daytime conditions. Temperatures are expected to range between 26 degrees and 33 degrees Celsius throughout the day.
In La Union, local communities can expect light to moderate winds blowing from the south to southwest. These winds will generate slight to moderate coastal waves, which means sea conditions will remain safe for small seacraft and fishing boats operating along the province’s coastline.
The five-day extended outlook for the region indicates that temperatures will remain warm, peaking at 33 degrees Celsius and dropping to a minimum of 24 degrees Celsius by midweek. Winds will gradually shift from the southwest to the south, maintaining the calm to slightly wavy sea conditions.
Although PAGASA has not issued any active heavy rainfall warnings for the province, a thunderstorm watch was previously raised for neighboring Ilocos Norte. Local disaster risk reduction offices in La Union continue to monitor the weather, as isolated thunderstorms can still cause sudden, heavy downpours and localized flooding in low-lying areas.
