According to PAGASA in its regional forecast issued at 5:00 AM on July 18, 2026, Northern Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to localized weather systems. The daily outlook indicates warm and humid conditions across the region, with temperatures ranging from 25°C to 33°C.
For the province of La Union, this weather pattern brings warm daytime temperatures paired with sudden, brief afternoon or evening rains. Be wary of travel during the intense heat which may cause heat-related symptoms. Localized thunderstorms may still develop unexpectedly, prompting weather observers to advise caution for outdoor activities.
The state weather bureau highlighted specific environmental conditions for the region:
- Wind speed will remain light to moderate, blowing from the southwest.
- Coastal waters will be slight to moderate, making conditions generally safe for local fisherfolk and maritime activities.
- Mountain slopes carry a continued risk of landslides, mudslides, rockslides, and flash floods during heavy localized downpours.
Although PAGASA officially terminated Thunderstorm Advisory No. 5 earlier this morning, disaster risk reduction offices urge residents to remain vigilant. Local communities are advised to monitor regular weather updates to prepare for sudden hazards associated with severe thunderstorms.
