Monsoon Rains Trigger Weather Advisories Across Northern Luzon
La Union towns brace for moderate to heavy rains and potential landslides due to Habagat.

According to PAGASA, the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) is bringing light to heavy rains across Northern Luzon on July 13, 2026, prompting official warnings for potential flash floods and landslides. The state weather bureau issued Rainfall Advisory No. 18 at 5:00 AM, advising local disaster risk reduction offices and the public to monitor the weather and take safety precautions.
In La Union, the weather system is causing varying levels of rainfall across almost all municipalities. Local disaster officials are closely monitoring mountain slopes and low-lying areas for potential hazards.
The state weather bureau categorized the affected La Union areas into two rainfall levels:
- Light to moderate rains are expected within the next two to three hours in Bacnotan, Balaoan, Bangar, Luna, San Gabriel, Santol, Sudipen, Bagulin, and San Juan.
- Light to moderate to at times heavy rains are currently being experienced and may persist in Agoo, Aringay, Bauang, Burgos, Caba, Naguilian, Pugo, Rosario, the City of San Fernando, Santo Tomas, and Tubao.
Residents living near mountain slopes are warned against possible landslides, mudslides, rockslides, and flash floods. PAGASA advises the public to remain vigilant and wait for the next weather update.
