Isolated Rainshowers and Thunderstorms Forecast for Northern Luzon

According to PAGASA in its 5:00 AM regional forecast on July 8, 2026, Northern Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to localized weather systems. The state weather bureau reported that these conditions will bring temperatures ranging from 25°C to 33°C, accompanied by light to moderate northwest winds and slight to moderate coastal waters.

For the province of La Union, including coastal areas in San Juan and Bauang, these isolated thunderstorms mean sudden, brief downpours that may occur despite generally fair weather during the day (an umbrella or raincoat will be useful). Localized rainshowers could temporarily affect daily outdoor activities and agricultural work across the province.

The weather agency’s extended outlook indicates a gradual shift in weather patterns later in the week. While Wednesday maintains moderate northwest winds, coastal and wind conditions are expected to change significantly:

• Thursday, July 9: Winds will strengthen from the southwest to northwest, causing coastal waters to become moderate to rough.
• Friday, July 10: Winds will become strong from the southwest, bringing rough to very rough coastal conditions and a slightly lower peak temperature of 31°C.
• Saturday, July 11: Strong southwest winds will persist, maintaining rough to very rough seas.

Although PAGASA officially terminated Thunderstorm Advisory No. 6 at 4:52 AM today, officials still advise residents to remain vigilant. Communities situated near mountain slopes in La Union are cautioned to monitor for potential hazards such as landslides, mudslides, rockslides, and flash floods during sudden heavy downpours.
