Isolated Rainshowers and Thunderstorms Forecast in Northern Luzon

According to PAGASA in its regional forecast issued at 5:00 AM on July 7, 2026, Northern Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to localized weather systems. The region can expect temperatures ranging from 26°C to 33°C with light to moderate winds blowing from the southwest to northwest. Coastal conditions across the northern seaboards are forecast to remain slight to moderate, ensuring generally safe conditions for maritime activities.

For residents and fisherfolk in coastal areas of La Union: from Santo Tomas in the south to Bangar in the north, the light to moderate coastal waters mean normal daily fishing and beach activities can proceed. However, local disaster risk reduction offices advise the public to remain alert for sudden, short-duration thunderstorms that may cause localized flooding in low-lying areas.

According to the extended outlook from PAGASA, the weather pattern in the region will gradually shift later in the week:

• Tuesday and Wednesday (July 7–8): La Union temperatures will range from 25°C to 33°C with light to moderate winds and slight coastal conditions.
• Thursday (July 9): Winds will strengthen to moderate to strong from the northwest, bringing moderate coastal waves and will affect the bangka’s stability when out in open waters.
• Friday (July 10): Temperatures will drop slightly to 26°C to 30°C as strong winds from the west to southwest create moderate to rough coastal waters. Venturing out into open waters at this time is not recommended.

While no active heavy rainfall warnings are currently in place for the province, a separate thunderstorm watch was issued for neighboring Ilocos Norte. PAGASA advises the public to monitor daily weather updates for any sudden changes in wind speed and wave heights, especially toward the weekend.
