Typhoon Francisco Brings Heavy Rains Across Northern Luzon
PAGASA issues rainfall warnings for La Union and neighboring provinces.

According to PAGASA, Typhoon Francisco is bringing light to moderate, and at times heavy, rains across several provinces in Northern Luzon on June 24, 2026, prompting official warnings of potential flash floods and landslides. The state weather bureau issued Rainfall Advisory No. 6 at 5:00 AM, advising local disaster risk reduction offices and the public to monitor the weather system and take immediate precautionary measures.
In La Union, the weather advisory highlights specific areas currently experiencing or expecting heavy rainfall. The municipalities of Luna, Bacnotan, and Balaoan are already experiencing these rain conditions, which are expected to persist for the next two to three hours.
Additionally, PAGASA warned that rains will likely begin within the next two to three hours in other parts of the province. Affected areas include Agoo, Aringay, Bagulin, Bangar, Bauang, Burgos, Caba, Naguilian, Pugo, Rosario, the City of San Fernando, San Gabriel, San Juan, Santo Tomas, Santol, Sudipen, and Tubao.
The rainfall advisory also covers neighboring provinces in the Ilocos Region and nearby areas. Heavy rains are also expected or being experienced in parts of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Pangasinan, Cagayan, Isabela, Abra, and Apayao.
The state weather bureau emphasized that residents living along mountain slopes must remain vigilant against hazards such as landslides, mudslides, and rockslides. Low-lying communities are also warned of potential flash floods as the weather system continues to affect the region.
