New Governance Solutions Presented to Improve Public Service

PGLU and DILG partner to boost La Union's public service through new apprentice-led solutions

The Provincial Government of La Union collaborated with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) - La Union and the Local Government Academy (LGA) to hold the La Union Executive Briefing on August 18, 2026. It was held at the Francisco I. Ortega Session Hall inside the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Bayview Legislative Building.

Trainees from the local government officer apprenticeship program presented a package of proposed training and operational improvements. These proposals, backed by Governor Mario Eduardo C. Ortega, are results from the trainees’ direct field observations and assessments of current local government practices.

By collaborating with provincial department heads and community stakeholders, the apprentices designed these initiatives to help establish a more responsive and sustainable local government.
