Tropical Depression Luis Tracks East of Camarines Norte

Tropical Depression Luis was located 315 kilometers east of Daet, Camarines Norte at 3:00 AM on August 2, 2026, carrying maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 70 kilometers per hour while moving slowly west-southwestward, PAGASA reports.

In La Union and remaining areas outside the direct path of the cyclone, Elyucanos can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms caused by localized weather systems. PAGASA warned that severe thunderstorms could trigger flash floods or landslides in susceptible areas across La Union.

Coastal waters across Luzon, including coastal towns in La Union such as Agoo, Caba, Bauang, San Fernando, San Juan, Bacnotan and Balaoan , will experience slight to moderate conditions with wave heights between 0.6 and 1.5 meters driven by northeast to northwest winds, which are very similar to yesterday’s report.

Specific regional effects across the country include:

• Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, and Catanduanes face rains with gusty winds, creating minimal to minor threats to life and property alongside potential flash floods.
• Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, CALABARZON, Bicol Region, Aurora, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Aklan, and Antique will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.
• Super Typhoon Dolphin, currently outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility at 3,410 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon, holds maximum sustained winds of 185 kilometers per hour while moving west-northwestward at 25 kilometers per hour.

PAGASA recorded peak relative humidity at 94 percent at 2:00 AM and a low of 64 percent at 2:00 PM over the 24-hour observation period ending at 8:00 PM yesterday. A temperature high of 33°C and a low of 24.4°C was recorded during the same period.
