Isolated Rainshowers and Thunderstorms Expected Across Northern Luzon
La Union residents advised to prepare for sudden rains despite terminated thunderstorm warnings.

According to PAGASA in its regional weather forecast issued at 5:00 AM on July 22, 2026, Northern Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to localized weather systems. The state weather bureau reported that these conditions will bring light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters across the region.
In La Union, temperatures are expected to range from 26°C to 33°C. Winds will blow from the southwest to northwest at light to moderate speeds, keeping coastal waters generally safe for local fisherfolk, though caution is still advised during sudden gusts.
Although PAGASA officially terminated Thunderstorm Advisory No. 9 at 4:31 AM, local disaster risk reduction offices in the province remain vigilant. The weather bureau emphasized that localized thunderstorms can still develop rapidly and present immediate safety risks.
Residents living near mountain slopes or low-lying areas in La Union are advised to monitor local conditions for the following hazards:
- Flash floods in low-lying communities and urban streets.
- Landslides, mudslides, or rockslides along hillside roads and mountainous terrain.
- Sudden lightning strikes and strong winds during brief, intense downpours.
The extended weather outlook for the week indicates that light to moderate southwest winds will persist, with daily temperatures in the province hovering between 25°C and 33°C through Thursday.
