Under the directive of Pres. Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) completed its nationwide distribution of patient transport vehicles to all 82 provinces on July 24, 2026, after turning over two new emergency vehicles to La Union, the PGLU reports.
The ceremonial turnover occurred at the Provincial Capitol of Pampanga in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga, where Gov. Mario Eduardo C. Ortega accepted the units on behalf of the province. The event covered beneficiary provinces across Region I, Region II, Region III, and the Cordillera Administrative Region.
The nationwide rollout recorded key operational milestones upon completion:
- 1,830 total patient transport vehicles distributed nationwide.
- 100% program completion across all cities, municipalities, and 82 provinces.
- 34 vehicles handed over during the final multi-regional ceremony in Pampanga.
- 2 units allocated directly to La Union for local emergency response.
The program equips local government units with dedicated vehicles to improve response times, specifically targeting individuals living in geographically isolated and underserved areas.
PCSO General Manager Melquiades A. Robles stated, “This mission is guided by the vision of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. that no Filipino, no matter how far or how humble their circumstances, should ever be left without access to emergency medical care. Through the completion of the nationwide distribution of Patient Transport Vehicles to all provinces, we are translating that vision into concrete action that will help save lives and bring medical assistance closer to every community.”
The addition of these PTVs allows emergency responders in La Union to provide faster, life-saving transportation for patients requiring urgent medical intervention.
This event is also inline with La Union Gov. Mario Ortega’s advocacy and commitment of building a more accessible, efficient and inclusive healthcare system for the province of La Union.
